They were not new IPs, but they were new games with all new experiences. What Sony is attempting to provide is the exact same game and experience ported from PS3. I have no problems with playing already existing IPs on a handheld as long as I'm playing a different game from what's on my home console. There are very few people in the world that would benefit from transfarring and exact ports between Vita and PS3. It's an extremely niche market, and Sony would be better off providing each region with their most wanted games as soon as possible. If they announce Monster Hunter Vita at E3, that would be the best thing to happen to their new handheld so far. And if they also come up with a big Call of Duty game for Vita, that would be just as good of an idea. Turning things around in a couple of weeks is completely possible, and the Vita can still have the success of the PSP.
