My attacks per second is 1.83 right now, sped up hand-crossbow with decent damage.
But the leap in damage from the gear I can use (level 57, closing in on 58) and the level 60 gear is truly massive.
I can't imagine many things on Hell that offer much of a challenge if my character had a 1100 ++ DPS weapon...

I also started a Barbarian today, he's just level 15 though. Fun class, certainly a lot more fun than the Barbarian in D2 (never liked him) but seems incredibly overpowered on normal with plenty of stun, AoE, slow, knockback and what have you, already from level 5 and up. Rend is also pretty damn effective, I can imagine it being even better later on since I expect the bleeding damage to be a percentage of your normal damage or, at the very least, based off of your level.

Level 60 gear is a whole new game in itself. I've seen weapons in the AH at level 60 that have up to 1.2K DPS

I'll send you a friend request . I'm currently finishing up Act III with my own Demon Hunter and you were right about how easy the game becomes with this class XD.
