No advertising, no worldwide release date so for the few people outside US who did know about it Sony killed the buzz of a new release, with no buzz is little word of mouth which a no advertising game needs. The same people who also had their buzz killed also got a censored version which for this sort of game raises the question of 'why even bother to release it'. Then they slapped an online pass on it so anyone who was curious and on the edge about buying and wanted to rent before parting with cash got denied, so even potential customers got given the middle finger. |
From what I hear, the online is nearly unplayable. Why would Sony advertise a game with broken online? That would be a huge waste of money since consumers would still not have bought the game. |
Actually, since I've bought it I've played online a lot. It isn't as bad as people are saying, the game doesn't have big connectivity issues anymore. Online mode is actually very funny, I'm enjoying it a lot (you got a lot of chaos and destruction, but you need a good strategy to use specials, select weapons and search for health).
