The reason the game didn't do as well is because the campaign was rushed. Previous TM campaigns weren't just about car combat, they were also about unique characters and the stories that drove them. But for this new installment, they only have you play as 3 characters, so the vehicles are the main focus, not the people driving them. Gameplay is still really fun. Well, except for the racing segments (shudder).
