Yes, I should have been clearer: if you want a cheap tablet, most probably you'll still have to cut too many corners, batteries life possibly being one.
For my personal tastes, enough computing power and RAM and enough battery life and capacitive touch screen on cheap tablets will be the maturity milestone. Just like the Alcatel One Touch 990 is the first budget smartphone that maybe I'll ever buy, having reached the necessary maturity, it offers a lot of high end features (including front and rear camera) for less than 150 Euros. Personal tastes. The concept of "tablet or smartphone both cheap and mature enough" may vary from person to person.
