I'm not an english native born and would like to know what of the following is the proper word: anyway or anyways?

Anyway is the right one.

Anyways is a bit like slang, a colloquial expression. I would only ever use it verbally, never write it down. It's more err quirky, overly casual etc.

You may also hear some people say 'anywho' which means the same thing as anyways and is just an unusual way of saying it. It's not strictly correct but is fine in friendly conversation. Although I think I've only heard my English friends use 'anywho' lol. Would be interested if any Americans use it.

Ok, thanks a lot.
