it all depends on where nintendo wants to put their money.  the tablet is going to be more expensive than a standard controller.  not sure how much but lets just say $20-30 bucks more.  MSony is very likey, imo, to lauch at $400 dollar or more.  if nintendo targets $300 or $350 then that is another $50 to $100 dollars more that isn't going to hardware specs.  $70 to $130 dollars more is quite a big jump in hardware specs MSony is likey to have, imo.

...and that's not accounting for the likey case that MSony will probably be selling at a loss at launch, something nintendo is not likely to do.

While I agree with most of your post, specially the fact that MS and probably Sony will launch their consoles at a loss, there are ways for Nintendo to overcome some of those 70-130€ in hardware.

For instance they are going with propietary discs and it's easy to assume that the WiiU won't be able to play DVDs/BDs so they won't have to pay royalties for that. Also, it's rumored (because that's the only thing we know, rumors) that the console won't have an HDD, again something that Sony and Microsoft will probably include.

And then there's another thing to consider: resolution. That pics at 5029x2827 looks amazing, there is no denying, but our TVs are only 1920x1080. So yes, maybe the nextbox and PS4 will be able to run the UE4 at 1080 thanks to those +100 $/€ in hardware, but this gen has shown us that games running at 720 can look great, and if WiiU is able to run the UE4 at 720p, most people will find it good enough.

And let's not forget that, again according to rumors, Microsoft will bundle Kinect with the new console, and that will cost more than WiiU's controller.

Mind you, I'm 100% positive that Nintendo's console will be the weakest of all three, but I'm not so sure about it not being able to run this engine.

perhaps.  we'll find out soon enough.  right now all we have is rumor and specualtion to go on.  E3 should at least clarify how high speced the wii U is.  we'll probably have to wait quite a while to get anything definate on the next MSony hardware.
