The one, the only, Edward FUCKING Van Halen!
He brought finger tapping to the masses, and basically defined an entire decade of music with his insane guitar attacks. Still to this day he makes sounds on the guitar that you would never expect.
Also, he and Michael Jackson teamed up on quite possibly the most epic song ever written/played/fornicated to in the history of the multiverse. During the late 70's and early 80's 6 separate alien invasions were halted out of fear of faces being melted.
