I have to agree with Pachter. I wouldn't say all of casual gamers will won't buy a new system but they'll be wary. People who would have never bought a system got one and after a while they probably got buyer's remorse. They already know what it's like to be a "gamer" and now they won't be so quickly to jump into this new experience.

I bought a fairly early in it's lifetime because my pals kept saying how awesome it is. I enjoyed it for a short time and played about 3 games on it but grew tired of it. Now that the PSVita is out I have no intention of buying it. I've already been down that road.

My sister is the definition of casual gamer. She had a ds and wii but her library only consisted of Harvest moon, Mario, wii fit, just dance and the like. Last year she sold her ds and wii and now she only plays with her smart phone. I remember the old days when she'd get excited to play the next Mario Kart or Mario party but now she only tries to show me the next Angry birds. I tried to show her the 3ds but to no avail. Even the new tablet in the wiiu wasn't enough to make her curious about the next generation.
