Oh! This just reminded me of another one. When I was younger, someone who lived nearby stole my Gold, Silver, and Yellow pokemon versions. He eventually felt bad about it and gave them all back, but all the data was gone by then (I had a couple level 100s in Gold and a level 100 Pikachu in Yellow). :(
I actually did work my way back through Gold and Yellow eventually, but it still sucked.
