Everyone's different, there are no set rules. I'm right handed, but I struggle with reading maps and mathematics while my girlfriend is very good at both. At the same time, I am much better at "language based situations" and always preferred subjects like English and History to Science etc.
It takes different strokes to move the world.
Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.
