Now, the big question is, will this be a typical handheld Call of Duty experience like previous ones, pretty good games in their own right that can’t hold a candle to the superior console efforts?  Or will this be the big announcement that the company is going to try and bring the mega-sized Call of Duty: Black Ops II to the handheld? Think about it.  This is already going to be a killer app for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and possibly even the Wii U, when it surfaces on November 13.  Players everywhere will flock to it, even if they say they’re “too cool for it” (whatever, you pre-ordered) and get into the multiplayer features.  Wouldn’t it be great to have a similar community on the PlayStation Vita?  It sure would.  And imagine the cross-play possibilities with fellow PS3 players.  Okay…that might be a slight bit of a long shot, but one can dream, right?

 Call of Duty: Black Ops II would very well work on the PS Vita.  Look at everything that the game would support.  Dual analog controls?  The PS Vita certainly has them, and they’ll be put to good use later this month when Resistance: Burning Skies releases.  (Not to mention what Killzone will do for the system, if Sony chooses to go first person with the series again.) In addition, the PlayStation Network could certainly support the multiplayer features.  Even though it’s built on a different level, take a look at what Unit 13 did for the system.  It lets you challenge friends while, at the same time, not putting an incredible burden on the system.  Sure, AdHoc would work better in general, but the fact that the Vita can handle PSN without losing any sort of power…that’s kind of saying something. Obviously limitations would have to be made to fit the game onto the system, probably with the graphics, but certainly not the performance.

Activision has proven with its development teams that it can make a game run at an incredibly smooth frame rate, even while all hell is breaking loose in the city, or when the odds are firmly stacked against you.  That’sInfinity Ward’s engine at its best, and I’m sure the development teams can find a way to make it click on another format.  This isn’t the lacking 3DS technology we’re dealing with here, or older PSP tech that chugs at the mere thought of a first-person engine.  This is power along the same lines of the PS3, according to various analysts. We’ll find out for sure next month what Activision is very well planning when it’s likely to reveal details on its handheld Call of Duty.  But we could definitely see Black Ops II working in the system’s favor, provided the right development team, namely Treyarch, can get it performing up to speed.  We don’t see why it couldn’t.  After all, didn’t Uncharted turn out to be pretty good?  Imagine if Naughty Dog used the tech.  (I’m sure it will one day…)

I think Treyarch or whoever is developing the Vita port has a lot of work cut out for them if they're aiming for an identical port; they'll be putting an engine that has been build and optimized for other platforms since 2005 (when COD4's development began) on entirely new hardware, and though it may have similar capabilities, the type of tech inside isn't so familiar. If you look at Uncharted: Golden Abyss for example, it arguably looks as good as the first Uncharted on PS3, which used the first version of the ND game engine, but no where near as good as Uncharted 3, which uses the latest version that has benefited from 6 years of evolution. I predict we'll see the same thing with COD (and for any series making the transition) on Vita, it'll probably look as good as COD4, but will take some years to get to the level of MW3 or BO2 graphically.

I dont understand, you think MW3 or BO2 looks better than COD4?? There is no graphical jump from COD4 to BO2. They all look the same. When I played MW3 it looked exactly like MW2.
