It died just as fast as it came out really. The Wii peaked after being out for two years, which usually a console peaks at 3 or 4 years and it had one of the biggest declines in sales for a console ever especially for a first place console. To go from highest selling every week to a third place console and second place console both doubling its sales weekly in such a short period of time tells you something.

I think you are ignoring that 2011 was the first full year the Wii was outsold globally by the Xbox 360 and/or PS3.

Also, the sales of the wii since 2010 are greater than the lifetime sales of the Gamecube and on par with the lifetime sales of the original Xbox. In other words, even in its decline, the Wii has eked out 30M in sales -- which is a milestone amount for a system.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.
