"ony also released an NPD statement, though they didn’t provide any numbers. “According to the April NPD, the PlayStation ecosystem continues to grow with exclusive titles such as MLB 12: The Show landing in the top five SKUs. Digital-only titles, including Journey for PS3 and Escape Plan for PS Vita, helped to further bolster growth.” Nintendo declined to send an NPD report for this month in time for publish"

Nintendo refused to release NPD data according to IGN.

3DS must of had abyysmal numbers.

That's surprising, surely anything would've looked ok compared to the Vita.

Not really. The 3DS is $80 cheaper and due to being out on the market for a full year  it has a lot more games.  Mario 3D land and Mario Kart 7 saved the system last holiday, but they now look like they'r'e only keeping the system afloat instead of sailing full speed ahead. Nintendo probably didn't release they're numbers due to the risk of bad press from the media.

But hey, Nintendo should have released more games this month. Aside from spirit camera they're were no real big games and Spririt Camera had terrible sales 6.5K.

Oh I know all that, but the average viewer would not - they'd see the higher number (50-80% higher maybe, I don't know) and run with it; Vita is dead etc.

I suppose the flaw in my reasoning is that no official PSV numbers are released, so the 3DS sales on their own would look poor.
