Considering the number of million sellers for Kinect, I think it's the most successful peripheral in the history of ever.  Does that not mean anything?

Depends how you are looking at it. If you are a MS investor, it's great because it will have most likely recouped it's costs and then some, however it doesn't look like it will have a long term return.

As a gamer it doesn't mean jack because the sales show it isn't consistantly popular so it obviously isn't the next big thing for gaming; it's a one hit wonder.

There are other factors that we have to consider, though.  The PS Move has crappy support (when it comes to games that are designed specifically for the device).  Kinect has great support but the device only supports certain types of games and it isn't as accurate as we need it to be.  Comparing these add-ons to existing systems to the Wii--a console designed entirely around motion control?  Now, who has the flawed logic?
