Yeah in an article posted by andriasang (which I will post shortly) Infaune have said that it was he who approached Sony with the concept for the game. The nature of the game is such that it would be easier to market to the core crowd across the world. This is what worked for Demon's Soul despite it being made by a japanese team. There definitely is a good market for these games.

 

and sony seems to be pushing big time for new IPs with the system as well. So I wouldn't be surprised to see few NEW IP's from sony's western studios at E3 and GC ;) My money is on Sony London and Sucker Punch (and possibly a game by QD as well since it's rumored they are working on two games)
