How was the VGC of Old?! Newbs and Vets welcome alike!

I was only a lurker during that period (or probably slightly after), and I remember that there were a lot more members and arguments and most importantly, people talked about games. I liked it like that.

But don't you think that has to do with the fact that the current generation was new then? I think we'll see something similar in early '14 :)
