As for the topic, I made a thread similar to this. IMHO of all those IPs, many of them are uninteresting (forgive my bluntness): killzone, GoW, infamous, Jak & Daxter, Twisted Metal. None of these are endearing in any way. The only exception to all this is Uncharted, Crash Bandicoot (which is not theirs anyways) and Ratchet and Clank. |
Funny how you think God of War isn't endearing enough for gamers when it has by far the largest fan group out of all of Sony's franchises.
It has 2.66 million fans VS the second largest PS exclusive fan group at 1.71 million for Gran Tursimo. (Facebook fan groups). So going by the amount of actual fans God of War is the most endearing Sony franchise contrary to your insignificant opinion that only the ill-informed minority would share.
Trying to make God of War sound unpopular is hilarious, it has more dedicated fans than any of Sony's other franchises, just a quick look on the internet you'll see hundreds of people with God of War related tattoos, there's more fan merchandise for God of War than any other PS IP and the games sell amazingly well considering the target age range and that it's in a genre that isn't very popular at all aside from God of War. No one really knows how well the games have really sold as Vgchartz isn't 100% correct and they don't track digital sales. GOW 1 & 2 probably did pass 4m and 3 is probably really close to 5m, but the accurate prediction would put the franchise at around 20+ million units sold in 7 years and with the most amount & most dedicated fans so how you can have the audacity to call GOW 'uninteresting' and not 'endearing' and then go on to mention 3 other franchise that are nowhere near as beloved, that's just stupid logic.
God of War is by far the best-selling, most beloved AND most critically acclaimed franchise in its genre, can the same be said for Uncharted/R&C/Crash etc? No, it's either one of the other with those franchises, so bad mouth GOW all you want it won't change the facts.
