Interesting game sales per console information.

- Wii: 2,695

- Xbox 360: 3,252

- PS3: 2,624

 

Software sold

- Wii: 786 million

- Xbox 360: 632 million

- PS3: 543 million

If you took these numbers out of context (which I am about to do :P) one could argue that every game that came out for the Wii almost sold 300k copies (786m/2695=290k-something), and every game ever sold for the PS3 sold slightly above 200k (same mathematics here as with the Wii!) and Xbox360 sold less copies per game: slightly below 200k (still, with the same math..)

Yeah I wouldn't make any calculations based on these game numbers.

I just saw that our database now counts digital games towards its respective platform. So 3,252 retail, XBL indie, XBL arcade games and even DLCs ! (and still missing a lot)


Overall the Wii should have far more retail games than the 360.

Yeah, I wasn't serious with those numbers :) I only meant to show how you can dissort numbers by putting them out of context: according to my "calculations" the Wii had the fewest shovel ware this gen :p and we all know that ain't true ^^
