What is the thing that changed between CoD2/CoD3 and CoD4?

GoW is getting a multiplayer mode, we'll see how that plays out. What connection do the Mario games have to real problems? You see, that isn't a factor at all in appealing to the mass market. People don't want real stuff, they want escapism, they want something that can entertain them and it doesn't have to be something they can relate to in their life. Who can really relate to the CoD games anyway? The games are unrealistic, that is a fact.

You're selling the GoW crowd short. What about those who like Greek Mythology? It's a great game for that. Now, if they'd expand this somehow into Norse and mayhaps Christian myths as well as having an addicting multiplayer, they could be right on the money.

Like I said, I and no one I talked to before CoD4 came out, could tell the franchise would become so huge back then. Most of it is due to the marketing effort Activision puts into it, plus the RPG elements in the multiplayer.

Mario and CoD offer something that gow simply cant now...simplicity. From story to gameplay, CoD and mario are really easy game to get into without searching, playing or knowing anything about previous games, Mario gameplay is really simple too and its deep or complexity is in level design, CoD multiplayer brings  instant satisfaction making it feel rewarding to the bigger masses at their first expereience. GoW in story needs at least to know or have played the other 2 games to undestand the charatcer and in multiplayer i would guess it would get dull if they try to achieve what cod does.

Also im not sure those who like greek mythology want all the parthenon dead by someone like Kratos and Christianism would get them in trouble.
