I dont know how it is in France... but in the UK a large portion of people that vote for the Labour party are very confused...  A hell of a lot of working class people want to limit immigration, dont like Europe, hate big government, are opposed to gay rights etc etc... and yet they always have and always will vote Labour.  They vote left, when they should vote right.

and its why its a pity we cant have some kind of test prior to a vote counting.  It helps if someone knows for what they are voting.  I know, I know, thats not democratic... but it is infuriating sometimes how totally unaware whole swaithes of the population are.

Democracy is overrated, it's what leads us into the shit we're in today.

The Conservatives don't really stand for any of that stuff either, though. It's all rhetoric, at the end of the day, they're still increasing the size and power of the Government, and letting Eurocrats decide every little thing for us.
