Duke Nukem Forever - I can't live in a world where this game isn't delayed, so if the devs won't delay it, then I'll delay it myself. Bought it on day one, it's still in shrinkwrap.
Half Life 2 Ep. 1&2 - Figured I'd wait till all episodes come out so I could play one full game rather than three short ones. So I got both episodes on Steam and am still waiting for the third one so I can actually start playing the first two.

I doubt that Valve makes another episode...
λ³ will be next IMO, so I'd say just play the episodes, as they are combined longer than a usual FPS, so you'll get your "full" game :)

As far as I know the story did not end in episode 2 (please keep it spoiler free, I know it sounds ridiculous for such an old game, but still... ;) ), so people are still waiting for a continuation of that story.
I don't really care whether Valve calls that continuation Episode 3, Half Life 3 or Gordon's Happy Fun Time Quest for Pancakes, I'm gonna wait for GHFTQFP until it's out so I don't end on a cliffhanger again. ;)
