that's what I'm starting to suspect too. either a last hoorah game for the PS3 after the next gen is released (can't remember now if FFXII was released for PS2 after the PS3 was released?), or a multiplat for the next gen consoles. certainly nothing before Dec2013 in Japan and March/April 2014 rest of the world imo
edit: well, without the rename; I don't think they'll do that
