A good even tan does look very nice, especially if you are at the beach a lot (having grown up in a city that IS essntially a glorified beach I can relate) or are commonly going to formal events where it is required to wear cocktail dresses a lot, but there are much safer methods than UV tanning, UV tanning is not popular among my group anymore & I just assumed that was the way with most places.
