That would explain the absence of airplanes from the predictions.
Anyways those were pretty good compared to your average sci-fi enthusiast predictions from the 50's-70's, just a minority fell prey to futurehype. Pretty interesting the fact that, just as today, continent-wide or even worldwide form of governments are predicted to arise on the long term. Instead Africa is fragmenting by the day and even the European Union looks set to fail as far as a full economic union is concerned.
