I recommend all gamers to atleast get a decent gaming computer - and today you won't have to sell your kidneys to be able to afford one - so that you can experience the vast library of awsome PC titles. I got my laptop for 6000sek, which translates to ~$600, and I while it's far from a power house I can atleast play Skyrim on High settings, and that's enough to satisfy me.
I've never enjoyed having to install games and update them every now and then, but I'd rather go through that pain than to lose mod support.
