The cube did not have the differentiation recipe set out properly. They had the right vision, just the wrong tools. To differentiate, they butchered their main IPs (mario's jetpack, Luigi with a vaccuum, you know, the Nintendo DIFFERENCE). With the Wii, they actually got things right. They managed to cater and attract the blue market they were looking for.

The WiiU is a completely different story. Look at it as a hybrid between the Cube and the Wii, minus the failed Cube attempts at reaching the blue ocean.

It's a recipe for success imho.

Well... I thought Luigi's Mansion was quite good...
