Here I thought this thread was to discuss the price and possibly release date not being at E3. Honestly I cant see how the release date cant be announced some multiplat titles will be there day one and Nintendo will need to reveal dates for their software.

However if they don't give release dates at E3 expect them at the Japanese press conference the following week. Nintendo is likely gaging how fans react to the software line up and hardware. Nintendo will determine the retail price after consulting with retailers and distributors and seeing how gamers react. My bet is if launch dates for software are not already planned that Nintendo is waiting to see its competitors full lineup and launch dates. Though I am pretty sure that Nintendo already knows a lot more then we do about its competitors E3 action.

As for what to expect at E3 from Nintendo?
1)A surprise a console roughly 2.5x the power of PS3 possibly more powerful (but not likely)
2) The strongest software lineup in Nintendo history. Around 50 titles announced for the launch window at E3.
3) Nintendo Network opened up allowing MMO's, RTS, F2P even social and mobile games are possible.
4) A push towards multimedia, eBooks, Apps, movies and music
5) Nintendo is entering genres it usually is not involved in like racing simulators and First Person Shooters

Nintendo is going to blow us away at E3, their will be so much shown that it won't be all covered in the press conference. Nintendo will keep announcements flowing for the whole week of E3 and then their following week at their conference in Japan.

As for the rumored Metroid FPS from Retro. I doubt it, its possible but Retro said they were done Metroid. Though a new FPS from Retro is very plausible considering their recent hiring patterns. I also doubt Nintendo will be using Unreal3. Not very likely at all FrostBite2 or the CryEngine3 are far more likely. Any use of the Unreal engine would be solely for political reasons, if Unreal was being used I wouldn't be surprised if it was Epic themselves making the game. This is because Epic will want to sell the Unreal 3.5 or 3.9 or what ever they call it to developers and publishers for use on the WiiU. Earlier rumors that Retro is working on StarFox or a new FPS or new IP period are far more likely then a return to Metroid!
