Would I want to go back to long battery life with no real features or a manageable battery life of 24 hours with lots of features then I say 1 day and features please. Once you have got used to walking around with this sort of power in your pocket taking it away is no longer an option.

Hopefully some of the work Intel is doing amongst others to improve battery life and still retain functionality is interesting and yeah sure a 30 day kindle like battery life is for sure appealling is just does not exist yet.

Oh I agree, if I could afford a smartphone I would have no complaints as long as it lasted at least a day, but it would be nice if battery tech improved at the speed the rest of tech does... my first phone lasted about 2 weeks per charge (though I used to turn it off at night then, but I am pretty sure it would have lasted 10 days without the nightime downtime)

I was reading an article about some of the things graphene is being tested for, supposedly it could significantly increase (I think it was about 3-4 times) the life of rechargable batteries... although some of the other experiments are far more interesting, such as being able to create conductive plastics, foldable touchscreens and apparently transparent aircraft (the last one wasn't really explained, but it sounds cool)
