It's all about timing anyways. If you hit the right time, influenced by society changes probably, you can go big.
Mankind had lots of ideas and great things in the past already. Either it's not really useful to us (yet) or too expensive.
That's how every tech company works anyways. Even back in the garage days. The right thing at the right time although it's known and "old", people can afford it now and global development, infrastructure, etc. helps those devices and techs.
