as for the first part, i am entitled to what ever i buy and want to use. im not entitled to other peoples property, nor are other people entitled to tell me how to lead my life. if i want to drive a truck that gets 18 mpg because it is the car i can afford and the car i want. then i should be able to drive it. if i want to buy normal inorganic food, because it tastes good, and is significantly cheaper than organic food, then i should be able to buy it. if i want to use plastic bags because it is easier more convienient, and i am repulsed by the idea of reusing an "organic" bag over and over because of the germs then i should use plastic. if i want to buy a 4000 sq ft home because i plan on having a family (i know thats fround upon in the climate change community), then i should be able to own it. i am entitled to buy with my own money the products that i want. other people should not be entitled to my property in the name of carbon credits and climate change. |
And this is the problem with a majority of the people on your half. You don't even understand what's at stake.
Nobody is trying to take anything away from you. It is the politicians under lobbyist sway that have convinced you that it isn't companies who are being regulated, it's you! This is not the case at all! It goes the same for taxes. I can't remember how many times I heard average people saying, "Oburmer wants to tax us out of our livelihood", when he called for tax on businesses that make over 250,000$, and give tax BREAKS to individuals under, what 75k? No party has ever done such a good job at convincing people to vote against their own interests time and time again.
Green tech would change your 18mpg truck to 30mpg through efficient means, the money saved on gas alone saves you much more money, that youc an use to buy other things!
I remember the first thing the house and senate did after reps took majority. They cut taxes to the top 10%. Meanwhile, I remember the entire campaigns and the tea party all being like "government is trying to redistribute my wealth". They never did give you a tax cut. Did they. Notice that was not a question.
