There's a few basics tricks you can learn by watching a few videos and checking a few web sites...

Like hotkeying your army production units does wonder...( allows you to produce units in the middle of battle really fast)

There's some other basic things like:

- Never stop producing worker units
- Spend your money as fast as you can (having over 1,000 minerals is bad, BAD!)
- Scout your opponent
- Never get supply blocked

All seamingly simple things but doing them perfectly all game long is very hard.
