Braindead NPCs unfortunately are a trademark of these kind of action-RPG games (and most games as well). I agree that it shouldn't be hard to program the NPC AIs so you could have simultaneous conversations or to make them more aware of their environment, but would it be an effective thing to do since I don't believe most players would have noticed it or probably thought it was a mere novelty.

In DII you could also have abilities in quick access (on the Fx keys, all the way to F12), but I hear that now you're limited to 4 hotkeys + the 2 mouse keys. Even though you can quick swap hotkey skills even during combat, I have to see if it's not too clunky for me.

The bolded screams console controller. I was hoping they would make the interface PC like. Do you drink your potions with 1, 2, 3, 4?

You drink potions with Q and to prevent people relying to much on potions they have a cooldown of about 20-30 seconds

So basically it's the same system as in Titan's Quest then (albeit with a much larger cooldown). The problem is that from what I've seen, there's also a plethora of health orb drops at the same time, so even with the cooldown in place, there's a lot of other ways to heal.

It's hard to judge from the beta since the challenge is pretty low but I'm guessing things will get tough as the game progresses. Maybe  the health orb drop rate will decrease in Nigthmare and Hell difficulties.

In the beta, there's a room with the Jar of Souls which summons unless skeletons for a minute and half (I think). Near the end of the countdown I was effectively getting overwhelmed by the skeletons my Hatred and Discipline running very low and my primary attack not strong enough to kill incoming skeletons quickly enough for them to drop health orbs.
