This bothers me more than you could ever know. You expect me to lay down and accept whatever a criminal wants to force me to do? What if they take everything and then kill me? You're telling me to put complete faith in the criminals that they won't end my life or harm those I love. Absurd though it may be, I don't trust criminals to act in my best interests, and I don't trust them with my life.
By saying this, you are telling me that the criminals hold power and authority over me, and I should respect that and submit myself to their will. I can't believe that anyone would ever think that's a good idea.
