I did a lot of research before going with LED over Plasma. Both have their pros and cons but, for me, LED was a better fit. There's also the issue of whether you want active or passive 3D. I went with active but, once again, both have their pros and cons.
Google LED vs Plasma and see which one sounds more like what you're looking for. I don't think you will go wrong either way but, for your money, you want to buy what you think is the best. When all else fails, go to a store like Best Buy where they have all models side by side showing the same image and decide which one looks best to you. It's a pretty big investment so, if I were you, I wouldn't just base it on a VGChartz thread. Use all of the resources available to you.
