No because games are bigger than previous gens and if a bug or glitch slips through the cracks despite extensive testing their would be no other way to fix it.

So since games for next gen will be EVEN bigger, we can expect a greater amount of patches.... great. lol

I wonder how Nintendo will handle this with the Wii U. The Wii did not need patches for the most part. They seem to like having the quality of their games under control.
