If Philip K. Dick were a prophet, Nexus Six androids would exist in 2021 (originally 1992 as of its writing in 1967), virtually indistinguishable from humans without a trained test administrator using the Voigt-Kampff test/machine to determine human or android.
The problem is, even in 2050, anything that sophisticated seems like it would cost a lot more than a run of the mill flesh and blood prostitute, assuming they're not just animatronic mannequins which would be the equivalent of really expensive blow up dolls.
If they're not just fancy mannequins, they would be far more suitable for off world exploration and inevitably, far better suited for police and military combat operations.
