New York Times: Sony Is 'In the Fight of its Life'

sony needs to be origional not copy nintendo, apple, and all other dominating companies thats their real problem they dont differntiate between them and their competition. the reason why they did so well with the ps one was price and spending money to get certain IP's. the ps2 wasnt brought about as a "gaming console" but more of a dvd/gaming console and it was affordable for a dvd player at the time of release. the ps3 was the complet opposite. expensive blue ray player when cheaper ones were on the market. and for a gaming console it was expensive and so were the games. the only reason why teh ps3 is doin a little bit of success is because its the only console besides the 360 that looks decent on a HDTV. when the Wii U releases at 1080 p for the same price and same games but with a more "interesting and different" controller people will drop their ps3's for that console. If you dont already see if ask around like i have and the demographic of ones im asking is 18-38 year olds. If the ps4 is anything like the competitors or just an upgraded ps3 sony will surely be in even more trouble. now as for handhelds go the psp failed horribly and teh DS dominated. now the 3DS price drop coupled with an expensive vita is proving to be a huge downfall to the vita already. graphics dont mean anything when it comes to handhelds what so ever as long the games can be handled by the hardware. which obviously the 3DS isnt skimpy on power what so ever since it needs the power to power the 3D screen. what sony needs to do is over powering certain devices. reduce the amount of devices and stop making their devices like their competitors and they will find success. If not they will be the next RCA anyone remember them? they were the big dogs back in the 70's and 80's
