Though lets be honest; it hasn't been that successful.
If we consider it's sales relative from release to both the Wii and PS3, it has sold the least, by quite some margin, whilst also having been plagued by hardware issues. If we also consider that it uses a media format that was antiquated only 3 years into it's life, it really seems to embody a console that was made by management, not by engineers.
It's no surprise that MS have lost money on the Xbox this far into its lifespan. I'm amazed that loses haven't been more prevalent given the above.
