Microsoft should really think about building their own Movie studio. Make it small (not Disney, Universal or WB style) but with 3-4 movies per year. These movies should be big budget though. I know this means that they are facing high risks.

Look at Alan Wake, this would work with a 40 million USD budget and really push the franchise:

The we have Gears of War, which would be a nice Action-movie with a high budget and of course Halo.

This is something where Sony fails IMO. They have their movie-studio but can't make the Playstation benefit from it.

Yet they have the potential Resident Evil is by far the most profitable game based movie venture ever

 

Maybe make a smaller skale halo movie in colaboration with Paul W.S. Anderson and Sony

I mean we could have seen a God of War movie like 300 already. InFamous movie would make sense as well, make Uncharted the next Indiana Jones or National Treasure (I know it is in the making, but way too long now.)

Actually you are pointing at the main problem of the sony. They have the potential, but fail to use it.
