As always, you don't understand what I'm saying ...

The videogame industry has certain sales patterns which show up time and time again, and if you want to make a reasonable prediction it is important that you take into consideration these patterns; if you don't it is a lot like going to bed one night and proclaiming that the sun will not rise tomorow.

Now there is nothing wrong with making optimistic predictions; for example, on an annualized basis the PS3 is selling at 7 Million units per year in 2008, and there is nothing wrong with predicting that sales will hit 10 Million this year. Where it starts to become foolish is when people predict an unprecidented boost in sales because of the release of games which the general gaming public has demonstrated no interest in time and time again.
