In a way. But going to a retail store is a much more immediate solution for many of us. When I buy from Amazon, I go crazy waiting for my item to arrive. I bought The Adventures of Tin Tin on 3D Blu Ray yesterday (can't find that damn movie in 3D anywhere!) and it is supposed to come sometime between April 20th and May 7th. Same thing when it comes to selling. A few bucks or store credit in hand now or a lot more or possibly nothing, later?

I have to admit, perhaps I am a bit biased towards Amazon myself because everything I buy from there is something I've pre-ordered, so I know that 1-2 days after release I'll have it. (Have to order from uk amazon because there is no nl one)
Another reason probably is that I hate physically shopping.
That's a rather wide gap for delivery date for tin-tin though, it's a pretty new movie, so that is indeed a shame on their part, I agree.

I'm a bit of an Amazon fan, myself. A few times, I've ordered something and it's arrived way before the first projected date. A few times, I've ordered something because it would say "Order now and have it by ______" but when I order it arrives a few days later. I don't really mind that. I always buy new games myself because (I'm a victim of corporate brain washing) I feel like I HAVE to have at least one Achievement/Trophy for that game on launch day. One thing about Amazon, though. I always recieve my item in the condition they promise--and sometimes, even better. I've ordered used games and recieved new ones. I oredered a cheap soundbar for my TV and recieved one much bigger and better than the one I expected. Nothing wrong with going with those guys if you don't mind waiting a little bit.
