I have to say that Windows 8 is indeed faster than Windows 7 - but I do not like the new Startscreen and the hot-corners - I think the startmenu was not so... hummm... clutering all over my desktop, I haven't been able to test any apps because it looks like my PC does not like them at all (closes all of them upon oppening) - also I do like my Desktop as center of activity and in the consumer preview the startscreen offers to little customizeability. The hot corners are just tedious with the mouse - also they should put all of the open windows either in the old taskbar or the new hot-corner appbar on the left - I do not know the official name - it just sucks to have to search your stuff on two different bars (tough the appbar was useless to me anyway :D) - ribbon has gotten a lot better since its early beginnings but still is not as good for advanced users (IMO) - I have to say I really like the overall idea of windows 8 but it all feals to touchy if you are using non-touch human interface devices :D

EDIT: Start-Up time is near zero - and thats something I somehow dislike - I want to make me my coffee while my computer boots! lol
