Outside FULLY dynamic enviromets, the others arent really new things. There have been games that showed some of those this gen. But you made me realize my mistake, "force" woul be the wrong word, "can lead to" would be a better phrase. |
Complex AI in a large, complex and highly interactive world? The games visuals, frame rate and online player counts can suffer from this. This is not only an aesthetic problem for many people as bad visuals can take you out of the experience e.g. low-res textures and aliasing in a game that's supposed to look realistic, the frame-rate directly affects gameplay in a big way on Sports games, Shooters and Racing games, and for online counts and the other factors, look at BF3 on consoles and compare it with the PC version.
And better hardware will also bring us better multi-tasking, better UI in our console and generally just refined software like a better browser, better chat features, faster loading, several added features that are achievable on only better hardware (e.g cross game chat, browser whilst playing).
