Or the Wii U one is a 3D game by the Galaxy team. They have been working on a new 3D Mario game for Wii U since Galaxy 2 came out. 3D Land was made with a small portion of the team and with outside support from Brownie Brown.

It seems the one they are showing is in 2D: "In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year's E3 Expo. This is based on the Mario experience that was demonstrated at last year's E3 Expo. We'll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date." - by Nintendo rep.

 

The next Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U is going to work together. Could Nintendo do something here aswell?

That would be really awesome. Still, I do wish for Nintendo to say something about the next 3D Mario game at E3. Possibly confirming a 2013 release.
