However most agree the F35 is not a defensive air craft capable of taking on Russia or China's latest fifth Gen stealth fighters. The F22 still appears to be the best possible fighter. Honestly America and her allies should be mass producing them yes they are expensive more expensive then the F35. But they are the best fighter air craft to date. If we want to spend so many billions of dollars designing a new fighter it should be able to out perform our existing one. The F35 is a first strike fighter not a defensive fighter. Which is the primary concern of most journalists and analysts I talk to. Read about Australia's recent doubts among other allies. Unfortunetly their is no currently viable alternative to the F35. We cant get another fighter built fast enough to meet the threat of the J20 by 2020. We aren't going to buy Russia's fighter and the Americans will not sell us F22's. If we did design our own fighters it would be at least 2025 before any of us could get our new fighters in the air. We cannot wait that long to get a fighter. Personally as a member of the JSF program I would rally the other members and demand the US sell us F22's and each member use the technology of the F35 to develop our own air craft. However we do need a fifth generation stealth fighter to challenge Russia's and China's. Here is a list of the top ten fifth generation fighters. http://www.mostbeautifull.net/most-advanced-aircraft.html |
When the J20 was first announced we literaly knew nothing about it and had nothing to go off of but observations of videoclips of it flying.
It was all pure speculation.
I mean if that's all we want....
