Non-native English speakers: How did you learn English?

That's basically what I was saying...

One thing that I find funny is how most of the time native speakers are worse at spelling than people who have learnt the language. Not grammar (except it's vs its and a few things you also get confused about) or expressions, but native English speaker are pretty terrible at spelling. Probably because when we learn the language we tend to look at how the words are written first, whereas you guys are thinking more about the sound of the word. I found out that towards my last few years in the UK I was actually getting worse at spelling!

The one plus of being a native english speaker is getting all of the tough words. Things like You're, Your, There, Their, They're. It's stupid how many alliterations of words we've got.
