The issue isn't that Apple should make games, it's that Apple would have to make games if they wanted to make a console. Just as Nintendo's efforts at providing "services" are often half-baked or worse because Nintendo is not a service provider, Apple similarly is not a game-maker. Unless they bought Valve outright, or another game maker to do the work for them. Microsoft had a solid framework for really building a software-publishing-and-development group to help push and differentiate the Xbox, but does Apple have that framework in place?
