Yep :) There's actually a specific reason for it.
The name francesco became so popular maily because of Saint Francesco d'Assisi, who was a very popular saint.
Saint Francesco gained his name beacuse his parents were silk merchants and francesco, in medieval language (in modern language french = francese), was an attribute to define the refinement of french silk.
