Ail GameStop wouldn't boycott Microsoft or Sony they would simply promote Nintendo's hardware more give it more shelf space. Not only would they have more shelf space for new hardware/software but they would also give Nintendo used game shelf space.
Also yes if NextBox and PS4 are as expensive as they sound and/or game retail prices go higher yes Sony and MS combined will lose market share.
Your also forgetting consumers. It isn't just the retailers that enjoy used game sales. I know customers that trade their new games in within days of purchasing them if they don't think the game was good enough to hang onto. Maybe the customer is short by 20$ to buy the new game they want they trade in a game and whoola they have the new game.
For GameStop to make all that money on used game sales first their must be customers selling them the used software and B their must be consumers who like buying the cheaper used software.
Third parties attempts will bring in extra cash as some customers will buy the online codes. But it won't likely stop used game sales. Actually it might be better for the third parties if used game sales continue. EA gets 100% of the online passes
